ملخص
تشهد اللغة العلميّة العربيّة نقصًا في الاستقرار وتنهك في مواكبة تطوّر اللغات الأجنبيّة إن على مستوى المفاهيم العلميّة أو المصطلحات المرتبطة بها. وقد تناولت هذه الورقة البحثيّة حال المصطلحات العربيّة، وتسلّط الضوء على مكامن الضعف في عمليّة استحداثها أو نقلها من اللغات المصدر، بخاصّة الإنجليزيّة، كما تعرض الصعوبات التي تواجه المصطلحيّ والمترجم في عملهما، إلّا أنّها لا تسعى إلى حلّ المشكلات بل إلى توسيع آفاق التفكير في مسألة وضع المصطلحات وتعريبها. لهذه الغاية، تستند الدراسة إلى مدوّنة اصطلاحيّة ثنائيّة اللغة تضمّ مجموعة من الترجمات والنصوص العلميّة المنشورة في العالم العربيّ. وتخلص الدراسة إلى أنّ المستحدثات لا تكتسب معانيها الخاصّة ولا تفرض نفسها في الميادين العلميّة إلّا من خلال النصوص، وأنّها لا تثبت إلّا حين يتعرّف إليها المستخدمون ويفهمونها ويستعملونها.

The Arabic scientific language has been witnessing a lack of stability and has been worn down in an attempt to cope with foreign languages, whether at the level of scientific concepts or their related terminology. This research paper addresses the Arabic terms' conditions and enlightens the vulnerabilities in developing or rendering them from a source language, mainly English. It also outlines the difficulties that both terminologists and translators encounter in their work. Nevertheless, it does not intend to solve problems but to broaden one's horizons, and help understand and acquire the process of terms' development and arabicization. To this end, this study is based on a bilingual corpus which comprises a wide range of translations and scientific texts published in the Arab world. The study concludes that newly coined terms can neither achieve their particular meanings nor assert themselves in scientific fields except through texts, as well as only being credited when reaching end users.
