ملخص
يبيّن هذا البحث العلاقة الوثيقة بين ظاهرة التصحر وأثرها في التدهور الحيويّ في منطقة شرق بعلبك. فالعوامل التي تؤدي إلى ظهور مشكلة التّصحّر هي نفسها التي تسهم في تدهور التنوع الحيوي النباتي والحيواني. وتتمثّل هذه العوامل بعوامل طبيعية وأخرى بشرية عديدة، أوصلت المنطقة إلى مشكلة من حيث توازن المنظومة البيئية التي كانت موجودة. انطلاقًا من هذا الواقع، تمّ اجراء دراسة بيّنت التدهور الحاصل بيئيًّا على مرّ الزمن، وذلك من خلال الدينامية الحاصلة على صعيد الغطاء النباتي الطبيعي الذي يشكل موئلًا للكائنات الحيّة، وأيضا من خلال دينامية العمران والزراعة الحاصلة في المنطقة منذ عشرات السنين وحتى الوقت الراهن، وذلك من خلال تنفيذ خرائط تبيّن هذه الديناميات، ومن خلال الصور المأخوذة لاظهار بعض الأنواع التي ما زالت تتواجد، أو التي حلّت مكان نباتات سابقة، وأيضًا من خلال مقابلات عديدة تمّ إجراؤها. أخيرًا تمّ اقتراح حلول أساسيّة لمكافحة التصحّر وتدهور التنوع الحيوي في شرق بعلبك.

This research shows the close relationship between the phenomenon/occurrence of desertification and its impact on biodegradation in the eastern Baalbek region. The factors that give rise to the problem of desertification are the same as those that contribute to the degradation of plant and animal biodiversity. These factors are represented by many natural and human factors, which have led the region to a problem in terms of the balance of the ecosystem that existed. Based on this reality, a study was conducted that showed the environmental degradation over time, through the dynamism at the level of natural vegetation cover, which constitutes a habitat for living organisms, and also through the dynamism of urbanization and agriculture that has been taking place in the region for decades until the present time, through the implementation of maps showing these dynamics, and through images taken to show some species that still exist, or that have replaced previous plants, and also through many interviews conducted. Finally, basic solutions have been proposed to combat desertification and biodiversity degradation in eastern Baalbek.
