ملخص
"بيت على الحافة" كتاب يتضمن مجموعة قصصية لمهى جرجور، روائية وأستاذة جامعيّة لبنانيّة، وبحسب تقسيمه، يتألف من أربعة أقسام: بيت على الحافة- الكأس المخفية – الأفئدة المشروخة - قصّة حبّ أخرى -أحلام عدائقية.
يتراوح حجم القصة بين نصف الصفحة والصفحتين. كلُّ قصّة مرفقة برسم واضح الدلالة حينًا، وتجريديًّا حينًا آخر.تحاكي القصص الواقع، فيقلّ التواصل المباشر بين الشخصيات، ويحلّ مكانه تواصل عبر الوسائل الالكترونية، وتكثر الجمل القصيرة التي فرضها الواقع الذي تحكي القصص حكايته وهو عالم التواصل الاجتماعي. قصص من واقع الحياة، اختارت الكاتبة مواضيعها، وركّزت في كل قصّة على تفصيل صغير من تفاصيل الحياة.
تطلق هذه القصص صرخة انذار تهدف إلى إيقاظ أهل البيت؛ فناقوس الخطر، يدق والبيت على الحافة، ومشاكل البيت تشلّع الابواب، وتحطّم الجدران، ولا يمكن أن يحميها إلا الأعمدة، والأعمدة لا تكفّ عن التناحر والبيت ينزلق وبعد الحافة مهوار!

“Home on the Edge” (Jarjour, 2017) is a book that includes a collection of stories written by Maha Jarjour, a novelist and a professor at the Lebanese University.
The collection consists of four sections: Home on the Edge, The Hidden Cup - The Broken Hearts - Another Love Story - Frenemy Dreams.
The length of the stories ranges from half of the page to two pages, and each story is accompanied by a drawing that that can be clear and direct just as it could be abstract. The stories depict real life where the writer emphasizes, in every one, a certain aspect or a small detail of life.
As in real life, direct communication between characters decreases and is replaced by communication through electronic means, and the sentences used were short to match the real world that the stories shed light on.
The stories cry out, alarming the people of the house, trying to awakening them; the bell of danger beats highly, the house is on the edge, the problems break the doors, ruin the walls, and only the stable foundations can protect them, yet these foundations do not stop fighting and the house slips… and behind the edge there is a slope!
